Background

Dr. Carter was born and raised in St. George and graduated from Pine View High School and Dixie College. He also attended and graduated from BYU and University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Carter is board certified in Family Medicine and also spent several years as an emergency room physician in Indiana. He made the decision to return to family medicine because he missed the personal relationships he had with his patients. He still enjoys fracture care, lacerations, injuries and other procedures but most of all enjoys making a difference in peoples’ lives. Dr. Carter joined St. George Clinic in 2008. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys all aspects of family medicine including pediatric, adolescent and adult medicine. He and his wife Michelle currently have three children and are excited to be a part of the St. George community. Dr. Carter enjoys hiking, biking, running and reading. He also takes pride in his garden, especially his pepper plants which he uses to make delicious (and very hot) salsas.
