Surgery Center
- American Fork Surgery Center1175 East 50 South, Suite 101(801) 492-5994
In January 2007, Central Utah Clinic opened its first high-quality, competitively priced, patient-responsive surgery center in American Fork. Communities within northern Utah County can now benefit immensely from our outpatient surgery center, which until now was not available. An ambulatory surgery center is a practical alternative when surgeries are not emergency-related and can be planned in advance. Patients are discharged the same day and recuperate in the comfort of their own homes. Patients enjoy a comfortable, caring, high-quality facility where costs can be much less than in other traditional settings. We’re pleased our Surgery Center is often more convenient for patients and their families.
Central Utah Clinic American Fork Surgery Center features a skilled and compassionate staff where local surgeons can provide outpatient and same-day surgery.
Patient Information
Prior to Surgery: A surgery center representative calls patients prior to surgery to obtain a patient’s medical history, complete a questionnaire specific to his or her surgery, discuss any pre-surgical preparations and answer any questions a patient may have.
Pre-Op Instructions: Patients are given specific preparations for surgeries along with a suggested time for arrival on surgery day.
Lab Work: Lab work or tests may be required to be performed prior to surgery. If it is required, patients may visit Central Utah Clinic’s own lab to have this work completed. The lab is located in the same building as the Surgery Center in Suite 151.
Medications: Any medications patients are taking need to be identified and discussed before surgery. Medication instructions are explained to patients before procedures are performed.
Financial Responsibility: We accept most insurances. Patients may call and speak to a member of our financial staff if he or she has any questions.
Preparing Children for Surgery: We invite parents of children to call and schedule a time for their child to tour the center prior to their surgery. This visit includes a hands-on activity that helps children know what to expect on surgery day.
Advantages of a Surgery Center
Lower costs. The surgical facility fee, at thousands of surgery centers throughout the nation, average less costs when compared to those performed in a hospital setting. The cost to use the operating or procedure room, which is separate from your surgeon’s fee, will be competitive to Provo or Salt Lake area facilities.
Choice. Patients and their families now have a choice in northern Utah County of where they want to have their surgery. Having a choice means more competitive fees, and better responsiveness to patient’s needs.
Affordable. A surgery center is specialized. Financially separate from a hospital, its overhead is much lower and allows savings to be passed to the patient. For most procedures, there is an all-inclusive, clearly identifiable facility charge and patients have a better understanding of costs before surgery.
Dependable. Scheduled surgery times are not likely to be delayed or bumped by non-related emergencies. Turn around time between surgeries is generally much faster than those at hospitals, which means less waiting for patients and family members.
Comfortable. Patients and their families can relax in a pleasant environment much different than the emergency and trauma environment one may witness in a traditional hospital. Children can be more comfortable at a surgery center because of its warm, smaller, more personal setting.
Insurance Approved. Many insurance companies and employers actually favor outpatient surgery. Some tailor reimbursement schedules as an incentive to use an outpatient center. Central Utah Clinic American Fork Surgery Center accepts most insurances as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
